Jérôme Roger

 

Biography

Jérôme Roger both holds a master degree and a higher diploma in business law.

After leaving university in 1983, Jérôme Roger has been working for seven years in the media environment. He was responsible for the legal affairs at RMC between 1987 and 1991. He notably participated to the purchase of Radio Nostalgie through a LBO. After this experience, he has been the legal manager of the NRJ Group between 1991 and 1994. During this period, he participated to the growth of the NRJ Group and the development of its different radio stations (NRJ, Chérie FM, Rires et Chansons) through the purchase of about 100 local stations. After that, he decided to move in the direction of the protection of the French record industry and joined the SNEP (local member of IFPI) as a legal manager until August 1995.

Since September 1995, he has been the general manager of SPPF, which is a collection society that represents 1000 independent producers (such companies as Harmonia Mundi, Naïve, Scorpio Music, Tôt ou Tard, Atmosphériques, Wagram …)

At the end of 1997, he has become General Manager of UPFI, in addition to his responsibilities at SPPF.

Jérôme Roger is also member of the board of several organisations and collecting societies at a local level (Vice-President of SORECOP that collects the levies for the different rights holders; Administrator of the SPRE that collects the broadcast and the public communication revenues for the producers and the performers …) and sits in different government and industry committees. He is a member of the board of Impala as a representative of UPFI.
