IMPALA IS LOOKING FOR AN INTERN

IMPALA, the European association of independent music companies, is looking for an INTERN to help its Brussels-based team with EU projects, communication work, public affairs and daily life of the association.

 99% of Europe’s music companies are SMEs. Known as the “independents”, they are world leaders in terms of innovation and discovering new music and artists – they produce more than 80% of all new releases and account for 80% of the sector’s jobs.  

 IMPALA’s work covers a wide range of issues and projects and we also have our own award schemes.  

 MAIN TASKS

  • Assist the team with specific association projects as they develop, including among others current work on culture, copyright, competition, diversity, sustainability, AI, digital and implementation of EU network grant
  • Taking part in meetings with other organisations/coalitions when needed 
  • Help in the management of IMPALA’s website and management of other communication tools, including drafting social media posts and statements
  • Assist in the daily life of the organisation 
  • Monitoring EU & music industry news – online press, institutions’ websites, social media 

DESIRED PROFILE, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master student (or graduate) in European affairs / political science / communication or other relevant field 
  • Excellent verbal and written English, ideally as a first language 
  • Experience in EU projects an asset 
  • Experience in communication work an asset  
  • Interest in music 
  • Understanding of the functioning of European institutions and decision-making processes 
  • Keen attention to detail  
  • Ability to carry out research and synthesise information 
  • Computer literacy (Word, Outlook, basic Excel knowledge, WordPress, Mailchimp etc.) 
  • Good knowledge of social media 

PRACTICAL INFORMATION:

  • Start date – March 2025 
  • Our offices are located in Brussels’ EU quarter and are easily accessible by public transportation
  • This is a paid internship of minimum 6 months at 100% time, in Brussels (with the possibility to work from home a couple of times per week)
  • The internship is open to university students, recent graduates and anyone interested in gaining experience in the cultural sector
  • Interviews will be held w/c February 3rd
