WIN WELCOMES COLOMBIAN TRADE ASSOCIATION ALDISCO

Madrid, 21st May 2026,

lianza de Discográficas Independientes de Colombia (ALDISCO) has officially joined the Worldwide Independent Network (WIN), the global network of trade associations that represent thousands of independent music businesses worldwide. This landmark membership adds one of Latin America’s most culturally and commercially significant music markets to WIN’s growing international family.

Home to cumbia, vallenato, salsa caleña, and a blooming urban and electronic scene, Colombian sounds influence artists and audiences worldwide. One of the most strategically important music markets that, until now, lacked a formal seat at the global table. ALDISCO’s membership in WIN now ensures that the voices of Colombian independent record labels are heard in global conversations.

Established in 2025, ALDISCO brings together independent labels and phonographic producers from across Colombia. Founding members include Bánfora Records, Llorona Records, Mambo Negro Records, Muchacho Berraco, Músicas de Colombia, Palenque Records, Polen Records, Sonidos Enraizados, and Tambora Records. Further members, including 312 Records, 4 Music, Discos Infante, Galletas Calientes Records, In-Correcto, Merlín Producciones, and Música Corriente have since joined, reflecting the appetite for unity and representation within Colombia’s independent sector.

Its arrival is the fruit of years of sustained efforts by WIN with Colombia’s independent music community. The secretariat and members have been on the ground in Bogotá and Medellín on several occasions, providing practical support and expertise to those working to build a collective voice for the sector.

Noemí Planas, WIN CEO: “ALDISCO joining WIN is the culmination of a shared journey, not just the signing of a membership form. We are delighted to strengthen our presence in Latin America and provide Colombia with an international platform, and we look forward to working closely with its members to expand the reach of Colombian independents and connect them internationally.”

Mark Kitcatt, Everlasting Records CEO & WIN Chair:It’s always a beautiful moment when we welcome a new national association of independents to the WIN family. I read the names of labels I know and those I don’t, new, full of promise, redolent of places, scenes and communities. We are all delighted to share the task and the journey of bringing great artists and new ideas to the world, with these movers and cultural agitators.”

ALDISCO’s mission encompasses more than commercial advocacy. The association will actively work to promote music as cultural heritage, champion intellectual property rights, and support diverse and inclusive artistic creation. Its activities will focus on innovation, internationalization, data management, audience development, equitable access to media, and professional opportunities for Colombia’s independent community.

Juan Sebastián Bastos, ALDISCO President: “By joining WIN, we will be able to consolidate the Colombian independent music scene, gain broader global representation, and thereby improve conditions for our artists and our music ecosystem. This partnership represents a historic opportunity to strengthen the international presence of Colombia’s independent music sector and forge new connections for our members.”

ALDISCO’s membership was confirmed at WIN’s recent WINHUB international networking breakfast, held as part of BIME Bogotá. The event brought together over 100 music industry professionals from 12 countries across 3 continents, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Perú, Venezuela, Spain, and USA. ALDISCO also attended a meeting of WIN’s LATAM Network regional working group, which is now officially joining as a fully integrated WIN member.

Cecilia Crespo, ASIAr General Manager and WIN Vice-Chair: “At a time when Latin America’s presence in the industry is at its peak, ALDISCO’s arrival to the WIN network is key to strengthening the entire independent music ecosystem. Latin America’s relentless strength is driven both at an artistic level and through its massive capital of passionate music consumers. However, it is necessary to address the problems and challenges facing the region and, together, build bridges that facilitate integration on equal terms.”

Mark Meyer, AMI-PY Vice President and LATAM Network Chair: “Welcoming ALDISCO to WIN and the LATAM Network fills us with enthusiasm. The fact that one of the world’s most important and culturally relevant record markets now has an association representing the independent sector greatly strengthens WIN’s mission in Latin America and adds a new voice to independent labels worldwide.”

During their trip to Colombia, WIN representatives met with companies from the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, and Venezuela. This continues the organization’s efforts to assist local independent record labels build the associative structures required to join the global network, a process in which Colombia now serves as an inspiring model.
