Jakob Sørensen

 

Biography

Jakob Sørensen is one of the most successful and innovative entrepreneurs in the Danish music industry. He is the founder and former head of independent record labels Copenhagen Records and The Bank, where he worked with artists including Lukas Graham, Alphabeat, Nephew, Saybia, Vera, Spleen United and AvAvAv.
 
Apart from being Chair of DUP (the Danish National Association for Indepedent Record Labels), Jakob is the Founder and Chair of the Danish Songwriting Academy in Roskilde and board member of Promus.
 
A frequent voice in public music debates – most recently on sexism in the industry – Jakob is also the author of the book “When Music Meets Sport”, in which he challenges the traditional rock’n’roll culture of the music business and draws on lessons from the world of sport in pursuit of better mental resilience and better music.
