Buma Cultuur, a branch of the Dutch collecting society Buma, supports and promotes Dutch music copyright in the Netherlands and key export markets. It aims to increase the percentage of Dutch music in the Dutch market and to raise revenue flow by stimulating the use of Dutch music copyright on foreign markets. It organises projects such as the Amsterdam Dance Event and Eurosonic Noorderslag to promote music in the Netherlands, but it also presents awards, contributes to TV and radio programmes, compiles promotional CDs and represents the industry at international music conventions.
Eurosonic is a key European conference and showcase festival organised by the Noorderslag Foundation in cooperation with Buma. It focuses on creating a platform for the European and Dutch music industry and to encourage the exchange of ideas in the sector through live music. It is also broadcasted each year on national radio stations in more than 20 countries.
