Nuno Saraiva

Biography

Nuno Saraiva is the founder of the Lisbon-based SCL independent label group, featuring the Lusitanian, Polk Salad Records, and Fading Ways Music catalogues. He is also label manager of Indiefada, founded by GNR – Grupo Novo Rock, Portuguese pop icons. Along with members of peixe : avião, he was co-founder of the PAD Artist Collective in Portugal in 2011, that became a new-model record label featuring artists such as Old Jerusalem, Dear Telephone, The Astroboy, La La La Ressonance and others. Saraiva left PAD in 2013.

Nuno Saraiva was also a Board member of musicaPT (2012-2013), the Portuguese Agents and Promoters Association, and is the founding Vice-President of the AMAEI, the Portuguese Independent Music Association. The AMAEI gathers both independent labels and self-released artists under its Master-owners umbrella.

Saraiva was born in downtown Lisbon’s Mouraria neighborhood, and after many years abroad finds himself back in his hometown with the AMAEI HQ a few hundred meters from his place of birth. Irony and poetry.
