Artists to Watch 2024

IMPALA’s “100 Artists to Watch” in partnership with YouTube returns in 2024, putting the spotlight on 100 independent artists across Europe that currently stand out based on various factors such as diversity and innovation, as well as commercial success.

IMPALA’s 2024 list includes artists from 31 different countries and a wide array of music genres, from Jazz to HipHop, Folk to Electronic, and Pop to Punk. There are many artists and independent record labels to discover.

Danish Rock n’ Riot Grrrl A Mess (Puffin Artlab) confronts gender perceptions, and sex with a head-on approach, channeling the rebellious spirit of #metoo in modern society and early '90s indie punk. Described by Visions Magazine (GER) as “feministic power pop driven by raw guitar riffs.”. Imagine if The Breeders bred Avril Lavigne and left the upbringing to Pussy Riot.

Aby Coulibaly (Chamon Chamomile Club/Redlight Management) blends 90’s R&B beats, smooth vocals, and insightful lyrics, amassing 6.7 million Spotify listeners. Praised by Wonderland, NME, and Irish Times, her live performances draw large festival crowds like Body&Soul and TV appearances on The Late, Late Show. Combining Senegalese heritage with Dublin experiences, her sound is distinctively original.

Adja (Sdban Records) is a Brussels-based creator, singer and performer. Her debut EP 'IRONEYE' achieved over 2 million streams, earning a spot amongst the EQUAL Global top artists on the platform like Alicia Keys and Olivia Dean. Hailing from Belgium, her biggest audiences are US and UK based, resulting in plays on BBC Radio 6 and becoming editor’s choice in the American Jazziz magazine.

Aleph Quintet (IGLOO Records) are composed of five young talented musicians shining in the Brussels jazz scene. Honoured at Tunisia's ‘Journées Musicales de Carthage’ and the ‘Musical Press Prize’ in France, their debut album ‘Shapes of Silence’ reflects diverse cultural roots, fusing North African melodies, jazz improvisation, Gnawa rhythms, and Sufi culture.

Amalia & The Architects (United We Fly) is a singer-songwriter from Athens. Inspired by Nick Cave, Morrissey, Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, Amalia (they/them) blends indie pop, folk and rock in a unique way. After gaining airplay in Greece and Turkey for singles "Save our Heads" and "Love is in my Room,", their EP "Growing out Of" delves into themes of isolation, selfishness, identity, and communication.

Anna B Savage (City Slang) is a singer-songwriter creating stark, skeletal paintings of moods and reflection. Most prominent is her strong and sonorous voice, which gives an intimate sense of vulnerability. Her second album, 'in|FLUX' explores humanity, love, loss, and earthly bonds, capturing these emotions with poignant, uplifting, and impactful melodies.

Anna Lille (Propellor Recordings) is set to captivate an eager audience with her witty lyrics and enchanting melodies. Armed with a guitar, remarkable vocals, and an enchanting aura, Anna Lille draws inspiration from indie pop icons like Lizzie McAlpine, Taylor Swift, and Phoebe Bridgers to astound crowds on over a dozen occasions in the past year.

Anna Vaverková (Kabinet Records) is a composer, singer, keyboardist and producer from Prague. Among other things, Anna is one of the first members of the Prague-Berlin label Oddity Records. Since 2016, she has been working in Berlin, where she moved to study music. In 2023, she released her very well-received debut album 'Pozdravy z polepšovny'.

Annie Taylor (Taxi Gauche Records) blends grungy 90s vibes, alternative rock, and psychedelia. Hailed by gigwise as "mellow, cool guitar romp through desert rock, shoegaze, indie, and pop", they've risen from small venues to supporting acts like Wolf Alice and Skunk Anansie. Their energetic live performances and genre-bending music have earned praise and festival invitations worldwide.

Asbest (A Tree in a Field Records) bring existentialist lyrics inspired by the Frankfurt School. Robyn Trachsel, guitarist and vocalist of Asbest, simplifies complex issues into slogans like "Valuum for the masses," challenging populism. Their music serves as a wake-up call, presenting fresh perspectives on entrenched ideas. Their album "Cyanide" is a safe space for reflection and scream therapy.

Ashaine White (self-released) arrives with a-new hybrid: grunge-soul. Inspired by Ella Fitzgerald, Lianne La Havas, D'Angelo, Radiohead and Nirvana, Ashaine’s moody, spellbinding approach to jazz harmony and melodies is wrapped with a brash garage-band sensibility and storytelling. Her songwriting forms a unique and exciting soundscape, putting you right in the middle of her world.

Barbara Popovic (IDJ Tunes) is a Macedonian pop sensation, she first captured the spotlight at the Junior Eurovision contest in 2013 and later secured a notable second place in the finals of the Balkan television music contest 'IDJShow' in 2023. This achievement has helped solidify her rising prominence in the music industry. Her latest single release is called Vatrena.

BEX (Fiakka Studios) is a formidable artist emerging from Ghana to make her mark in Vienna. With a blend of influences, lyrical prowess and unwavering determination, she is evolving constantly. Since 2021, she honed her unique sound, combining confidence with a perfect touch of explicitness. BEX invites listeners to escape reality and immerse themselves in her fantasy world.

Bianca Tilici (Roton Music) is a Romanian Pop-Dance sensation known for her unique and powerful voice. Her recent hit "Pe val" feat. Liviu Teodorescu dominated Media Forest airplay and Shazam Romania charts. Releasing monthly songs under dance label I NAME IT, Bianca attracts hundreds of thousands of global listeners. Her charisma shines on TikTok and TV.

Bicho Carpinteiro (self-released), blend 60’s Portuguese vocal samples, traditional guitar, heavy rhythms, and electronic textures in unauthorized celebrations. Their debut album showcases the almost extinct Viola Beiroa and Viola Toeira, integrated with beats and synthesizers. Their live performances fuse tradition with modernity, offering a dance club-worthy experience.

Birthh (Carosello Records) combines Italian-style "bel canto" with a sophisticated international sound. Since 2016, the Brooklyn-based Tuscan artist independently released 'Born in the Woods' (2016), followed by 'WOAH' (2020) and 'Moonlanded' (2023) under Carosello Records. She's performed worldwide, including at Primavera Sound, SXSW, ESNS, CMW, and Ypsigrock festivals.

Winner of the Music Moves Europe awards, while on his first European headline tour, Bulgarian Cartrader (self-released) is casually marking the beginning of a next chapter with the new banger ‘Narrow Band Of Happiness’, fans of LCD Soundsystem, Rapture or Hot Chip will love it! The single is promoted with voodoo powers and Baba Yaga sorcery by the Bulgarian Grandma Media Promotion Squad.

Carmen Boza (EO! Música) evolves like a flowing river, transitioning from an artisan of songs with 'Lapislázuli' and 'La Mansión de los Espejos' to an artisan of sounds with 'La Caja Negra' and 'Encore'. Boza's performances are an experimental evolution, blending rock, contemporary R&B and neo-soul. Restless, avant-garde and independent, she prioritises quality compositions and refinement.

CATT (Listenrecords) grew up in a Northern German three-house-village, mainly surrounded by woods and classical music before she moved to Berlin. After studying piano and production, the critically acclaimed multi-instrumentalist released her first EP 'Moon' in 2019 and worked with many well known artists. Her songs move somewhere between playful pop, jazz and indiefolk.

The author of the Cinnamon Gum (Seagull Ross) project is Maciej Milewski (MaJLo). MaJLo emulates Motown Records' production and engineering techniques, evoking the era's sound. The album 'Moon Water' explores love's various forms, from platonic to fanciful to fictionalised, featuring hits like 'Get Back', 'Mona Lisa', and 'Let Us Fly', crafting a nostalgic yet modern musical journey.

Rising star Claude (Cloud 9 Music) has quickly become one of the most sought-after artists, captivating audiences both in the Netherlands and globally. His debut single Ladada (Mon Dernier Mot) soared to #1 on official charts shortly after its release. With three Top 10 hits and a sold-out club tour on the horizon, Claude is poised to make a significant impact in 2024.

Coals ([PIAS]) is a duo, consisting of Kacha and Lucassi, who gained recognition through home recordings on YouTube. They've performed at prestigious festivals like Primavera Sound and Iceland Airwaves, and recorded a session for KEXP in Reykjavik. With two albums, three EPs, they've earned awards and nominations in Poland. Their upcoming album, 'Sanatorium' awaits release.

Viennese band CULK (Siluh Records), led by Sophie Löw, confronts global sadness in their music, exploring socio-political inequalities and existential anxieties. Their third album, 'Generation Maximum', offers a glimmer of hope amidst despair, departing from post-punk norms. Their music exudes poetic power and complexity, serving as companions in adversity.

Formed in 2010 in Trabzon, Turkey, Dedublüman (Hypers Music) is a 6-piece band blending epic and ethnic elements into alternative rock. Based in Istanbul, they create original compositions and covers. Their latest single, 'Sen Bilmezsin', continues their alternative rock journey by exploring themes of love, longing and the mysteries of the heart with rich instrumentals.

Tunisian DJ Deena Abdelwahed (InFiné) transitioned from jazz to electronic music in Tunis before moving to France in 2016. Praised by Pitchfork and The Guardian, her music along with latest album "Jbal Rrsas" blends Arabic diversity with the current avant garde and experimenatlism of the electronic dance scene. Recently, she has collaborated widely and performed globally, including Sonar Festival, CTM Festival, and Berghain.

Dela Marmy (KPRecords*KillPerfection), is from Trás-os-Montes and Beira Baixa in Lisbon. Her writing and composition reveal intimate and poetic songs, which meet the wild singularity of her voice. Formerly part of 'The Happy Mess', she embarked on a solo career in 2019, crafting dream pop with folk, accompanied by captivating performances that intertwine dance with song.

Deniz Tekin’s (Little Jobs) new album, ‘Yüzyıllardır Aynı Dert’ expresses the stages of disappointment from the aftermath of love. Denial, anger and acceptance, are not only associated to romantic love: this mourning also triggers Deniz's questions about her own position in all human relations, life and the order of society. Deniz summarizes the insurmountability of human condition in this album.

Disappeared Completely (kontrabass) is a rock trio from Kyiv. Their tracks have topped charts in Ukraine, France, Germany, the UK, Hungary. With single "It's in Your Eyes" going viral globally, this helped the group engage in several prestigious European projects. The band's second album "Pretty Average" was highly praised by the media and named one of the best albums of the year.

Edgar Homeros (Cosmos Music), earns acclaim as a top debutant among Swedish critics and was nominated for 'Artist of the Future' in Sweden's radio awards. Based in Stockholm, he debuted in 2023 with an EP featuring warm productions and catchy melodies in the neo-soul/indie-pop genre. His latest single, 'Please Be Careful,' previews his upcoming second project set for spring 2024.

Eko & Vinda Folio (Bloom Music) Georgian post-punk duo since 2012. Erekle Deisadze and Temo Ezugbaia gained fame with hits like 'Sistema Unda Daingres' and 'Agurit Khelshi'. Their music video 'Rac Mamas Unda', directed by Saba Shengelia, attracted France's 'Talitres' label. After releasing 'Shen Anateb' (2018) and 'Therapy' (2019), their conceptual album 'Abstinence' was published in November 2023.

Endless Wellness (Ink Music), crafts "fuzz folk" with a twangy, overdriven guitar, organ, and gloomy synthesizer. Their German lyrics confront depression and societal issues, urging action. Formed in 2021, their deep friendship births vulnerability in their music, drawing a devoted fan base. Their debut album 'Was für ein Glück' hit no. 7 on Austrian charts, blending melancholy with humor and distortion.

Flavien Berger's (Pan European) "Dans cent ans," marks the culmination of a trilogy, offering a futuristic journey through mesmerising soundscapes. Recorded during isolation, it blends sensual electronics, chanson, and art music, showcasing Berger's precise vocals and surreal storytelling. The 15-minute finale echoes previous releases, offering a timeless musical journey.

At 19, flowerovlove (self released), is on the path to superstardom. Her hit singles and EPs have amassed 22M global streams, earning praise from BBC Radio 1 and VEVO DSCVR. Not just a musician, she's a fashion icon, strutting at Paris Fashion Week and representing brands like Gucci. With sold-out shows and festival appearances, her dream-pop guarantees worldwide acclaim.

freekind. (Butter92) is a soulful duo featuring Sara Ester Gredelj and Nina Korošak-Serčič. Their R&B and jazz-infused music spreads messages of love and hope. Since 2020, they've impressed festivals like MENT Ljubljana and Waves Vienna festivals. Their debut album "Since Always And Forever" fuses hip-hop, pop, neo-soul, and jazz, resonating globally by offering both grooves and introspection.

Fulminacci (Artist First / Maciste Dischi), is a breakthrough italian singer-songwriter surprising crowds for his versatility, irony and brilliance. His songs have gone from timeless ballads to irreverent lyrics that uniquely describe our society. In 2019 'La Vita Veramente', his acclaimed debut album, won the Targa Tenco as “Opera Prima”. In November 2023, he released his third album 'INFINITO +1'.

Funk Shui (Self-released) are a North Macedonian collective fueled by an insatiable curiosity for musical exploration. Their track "METEORI" claimed "Single of the Year 2020" on Balkanrock portal. and led to a nomination at the HEMI Music Awards 2021. Their latest album, "Nikogash Pak," prompted sold-out shows in Skopje before a full European Tour.

Gåte (Indie Recordings) are Norway’s 2024 Eurovision entry, gaining global recognition for their authenticity and scoring well in international betting polls. Their captivating blend of folk/trad rock and powerful live performances captivates massive audiences. Emerging in the early 2000s, they fuse Norwegian folk with dynamic rock, swiftly ascending to prominent stages.

In his ten-year solo career, Giancane (Woodworm) developed a unique, expressive style blending irony, nihilism, and occasional grotesqueness. His potent gigs consistently draw large crowds across Italy. Collaborating with illustrator Zerocalcare on Netflix series OSTs bolstered his reputation. His latest album, "Tutto Male" (2023), continues to highlight his distinct artistry.

Multi-instrumentalist GONGORI (self-released) crafts live experiences where light dances with music, immersing audiences in a minimalist and intriguing universe. Their debut album ‘VAZIO’ emotionally blends the earthly and the ethereal, exploring electronics and experimentation. GONGORI, a holistic project, will release their next album in 2025.

Güner Künier (self-released) is deploying her voice over old school and industrial drums infused with lo-fi guitar and synthesizer sounds. Her debut album also invokes a psychedelic 70s vibe, although it's been adapted for the present day. You'll also find some synthwave tracks and Turkish lyrics in there. It features a great mix of genres which leads to a unique style.

Gustaph (541 Records) gained fame placing 7th in Eurovision with "Because of You," amassing 20 million streams and establishing as a Belgian queer icon. Supported by European radios, his follow-up single "Already Know," multiple award nominations, and frequent features on Spotify playlists like GLOW and Hot Hits signal his imminent breakthrough in 2024.

HVNDS (Seek Music Familia / Forward Music Agency) captivates metal-heads and rap/trap fans with their commanding sound and electrifying live presence. Dominating Romanian festivals, they've left a lasting impact. Their upcoming 2024 album "CONTROL" aims for chart-topping success, promising to elevate their music and performances further.

IDEM (JeboTon, Mudri Brk, Nasty Cut Records) is Antun Aleksa's post-pop-punk solo project, away from his roles in Porto Morto, JeboTon Ansambl, and Trophy Jump. Embracing a bittersweet tone, IDEM's debut album "POYY" was the standout regional indie surprise of 2023, earning six "Rock&OFF" music award nominations after sold-out shows in Zagreb.

Swiss pop/punk/rock duo IKAN HYU (Mouthwatering Records) energizes festival crowds worldwide, headlining shows from Germany to Indonesia. They've supported acts like Royal Blood, SOFI TUKKER, and rocked festivals including Fusion, Eurosonic, Reeperbahn, and c/o Pop. Their releases boast defiant messages and loud lyrics, showcasing a 22nd-century rock making serious noise.

Iva Lorens (Kontra Rights) started crafting songs at age 9. Honing her skills in Berlin, she debuted music with her all female band in her native language in December 2021 with "Svitanje," followed by "Zima". Garnering attention, she collaborated with Tuborg and Jason Derulo, earned MAC Award nominations, and received critical acclaim for her debut album "SVITANJE" in 2023.

Jakub König (Animal Music) is a Czech blogger, comic author, lyricist and songwriter. After performing with the band Obří broskev, he performed under the alternative singer-songwriter name Kittchen. Subsequently, he founded the group Zvíře named Podzim, which received praise among the Czech club scene. In 2023, he released a new album, ‘Hvězdy’, first release under his real name.

Kildare-based DJ and producer Jen Payne (Glasgow Underground) is breaking down boundaries in the Irish music scene, racking up 140K monthly listeners on Spotify alongside her weekly radio show on Spin 1038, and performing at all major Irish festivals. All eyes are on Payne this year with her being named as Amazon Music Amplify Artist for 2023 and 2fm’s Rising Act of 2023.

Joalin (Because Music / PME Records) is a Finland-born, Mexico-raised singer making reggaeton with pop and electronic influences and sings in Spanish and English. She has a massive audience on socials (3.2M followers on Instagram & 3.2M on TikTok). Before signing to Because London Records, she self-released several tracks, which cumulate over 10M streams to date.

João Couto's (self-released) second album, "Boa Sorte," released in 2021, showcases his unique blend of pop and indie music. 2024 will be the year of 'Efeito Submarino', a new record that will feature a more overt and infectious pop sound, merging 80s and 90s influences with a modern twist, as evidenced by his lead single, "Quarto para Um".

Joshua Idehen (self-released) is a British-born Nigerian based in Sweden. A spoken word artist and musician, he has featured on Mercury Award-nominated albums ‘Channel The Spirits’ by The Comet Is Coming, ‘Your Queen Is A Reptile’ and the Mobo winning "Black Is The Future", both by Sons of Kemet. His mixtape Learn To Swim released in 2023 to critical acclaim, including a Manifest Award nomination.

Kahaberi & Khanums (GMI Rights Management) is a revered Georgian drummer modernising Georgian folklore with his 2013 album 'Anidan Haemde'. Inspired 20 years ago during Jazz studies in Batumi, Georgia, the project blends traditional Georgian folk with contemporary music. Starting in 2010, the three-year endeavor integrates refined choreography, performance, and costumes.

Ki! (Crunchy Frog) debuted on double vinyl in late 2022, making waves in '23 with 20 genre-spanning tracks from afrobeat to soul, many with an Asian flair. Ki! debuted live in 2023 at SXSW, Spot, Reeperbahn Festival, and Waves Vienna. Featured in Apple ads and European TV shows, Ki! plans to release two albums, 'Yong-Gwanglo' parts 1 and 2, in 2024.

Klinika Denisa Kataneca (Menart), led by frontman Denis Katanec, is a Croatian alternative/indie band. Their third studio album, ‘Kao Zao Kor’ (2023), follows ‘Nikta Zorja’ (2016) and ‘Jada Jada’ (2022), both highly acclaimed. Known for energetic live performances, their music blends noise, psychedelic avant-folk, shoegaze, pop, and experimental sounds.

Kordz (Stockton Records) is Alexandre Kordzaia, an electronic music producer born in Tbilisi in 1994. Raised in a musical family, splitting time between Georgia and Switzerland, he graduated in Audiodesign from the Music Academy of Basel in 2016, he is heavily inspired by classical composers and electronic pioneers, Kordz transcends genres without restriction.

Lenhart Tapes (Glitterbeat Records) is a one-man-cassette-tape-manipulator renowned for his striking live performances. His sophisticated style combines field recordings, folk music, spoken word and sound propaganda to create an ethno-industrial, zombie like musical genre. His latest album ‘Dens’ is accompanied ventures into soundscapes of obscure ideas and sounds.

Greek American alternative-pop artist, Leon of Athens, (Cobalt Music) mesmerises with his expansive pop style. His latest single, '17' showcases his captivating performance, earning him popularity in Europe and the US. Confirmed to play at major international festivals this summer, including Bonnaroo, Primavera, and Summerfest, his allure continues to demand worldwide attention.

Les Attitudes Spectrales (Self-released) is a Latvian French punk rock band from Rīga, mixing various sub-genres like psychedelia, noise-rock, and shoegaze. With four albums including 'Songs for No One' released in October 2023, their gigs span Latvia, Paris, and numerous European festivals, delivering loud, intense performances on love, death, and confusion.

Let 3 (Dallas Records) is a first-class Croatian alter-rock band based in Rijeka, renowned for their outstanding lyrics, high-performance level, and energetic live shows combined with theatrical elements and extraordinary costumes. They are famed for controversial art performances, filled with shock, humor, and irony, along with collaborations in various theater productions.

Lia Kali (Propaganda pel Fet) discovered her passion for music at 16, exploring Barcelona's music scene on her bike and connecting with diverse genres like reggae, jazz, soul, and rap. From jams to projects like the Amy Winehouse tribute, she transitioned to writing her own songs, culminating in her debut album 'Against All Odds' (2023), which brought a successful tour and millions of streams.

Lover's Skit (Glory Hole Recordings), Stockholm's own Nathalia Aránguiz and Ove Jerndal, blend fashion and energetic music influenced by 90s breakbeat and indie bands. Active for three years, they've moved from local stages to top Swedish venues and festivals, impressing with a debut EP and lively shows, including their first UK gig in November 2023.

Malummí (Irascible Records) are back with their sophomore album ‘The Universe Is Black’. The new record is an eclectic fusion of minimalist, experimentally grunge-tinged indie rock and warm folk pop, exploring different forms of relationships: to the self, to others, to society. Fierce and blissful at the same time, Malummí’s new album is set to get under your skin.

Marí (Celebration Records) delivers a collection of songs in a timeless, reflective and calm, yet edgy, gloomy and melancholic universe on her debut album 'Making Peace With Uncertainty', recorded at Sigur Ros' studio in Iceland. In 2023 Marí played music industry festivals Waves Vienna and Viva Sounds Gothenburg in support of her debut album to much acclaim.

MARLENA (Sin Anestesia) is the most iconic and brilliant pop duo of the current scene. 2024 starts participating in the Benidorm Fest with 'amor de verano', in addition to a great tour of major festivals and cities in Spain, selling out La Riviera in Madrid. In streaming they are unstoppable, adding +3 million streams per week, +1.3 million monthly listeners and +110 million total streams.

Maustetytöt (Is This Art!/Playground Music) are formed by guitarist Anna Karjalainen and keyboardist Kaisa Karjalainen. The sisters' music is an irresistible combination of catchy melodies and down-to-earth lyrics relatable to everyone. Emma Awards, gold records, and hundreds of sold-out concerts throughout Finland have solidified Maustetytöt as one of Finland's most popular bands.

Mert Demir (Pale Records) is an Istanbul-based lyricist, composer, and producer who blends R&B, pop, punk, and arabesque genres. Gaining recognition with his diverse works, the artist set a record for the most streamed song in a day with ‘Antidepresan’. His latest track, 'Ateşe Düştüm', tops European and Middle Eastern music charts and radios. He is currently planning several musical projects for 2024.

Miso Extra (Transgressive Records) is the moniker of the fast-rising London-based singer, rapper and producer. Raised on anime, Bend It Like Beckham and old-skool hip-hop, she invites you to the ‘MISOVERSE’; a melting pot of cultural and generational substance. She explores femininity, empowerment and being of mixed heritage; giving ‘Umami for the ears’ critical acclaim.

mïus (Théque Records) is a music project by Gergely Álmos based in Budapest. Coming form an architect background, for over a decade now, mïus became more than just an electronica act, it's more like an audiovisual experience, an artistic project with amazing artists from different worlds. All the works are a result of a mature conception of self-expression.

modernlove. (Akira Records) is quickly attracting millions of streams and almost 100k followers. Supported by BBC Radio 1, MTV, LineOfBestFit, Wonderland, and Notion, they've sold out headline tours in the UK & EU and had successful US tours, plus supported The Vamps, Everything Everything, Nation of Language, and We Are Scientists.

MORDÁI (Draze Records) are a Hungarian folk rock group that draws upon the repertoire of the experimental folk movements of the 60s and 70s (Muzsikás Zenekar, Sebő ensemble, etc). The band's sound evokes the dark spirit of the highwaymen. With their first single, MORDÁI quickly became a prominent feature of the Budapest concert scene.

Francesco 'Motta' (Sugar) is an accomplished singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with four studio albums and one live album. He's has performed on hundreds of stages across Italy. Last October, he unveiled his fourth album, "La musica è finita," direct, blunt, and powerful, the album resulted from a strong creative phase and new contaminations among renowned collaborating musicians.

MRFY (Helo Records) has emerged as Slovenia's top indie rock band over the past 5 years, regularly selling out venues of 1000-2000 capacity. Their acclaimed debut album "Story" led to hit singles and a successful second album 'Use' which won multiple Slovenian music awards in 2021 for best artist, album and song. Their third album, recorded in London, is set for release in 2024.

néomí ([PIAS]) is the moniker for the Dutch/Surinamese folk-pop singer-songwriter Neomi Speelman who writes authentic and sincere stories backed by dreamy soundscapes inspired by the classic folk songwriters. in 2022, néomí released her debut 5 song EP ‘before’, garnering 3 million streams and winning ‘Best Newcomer’ by national radio station 3FM. Her latest EP 'after' is out now.

November 2nd (Self-released) are a constant in the Czech guitar scene. The core of the band is singer Saša Langošová and guitarist Roman Helcl. Genre-straddling between American-cut rock, darkened country, soul and similar genres, their eponymous album from 2023 is definitely one of the most pleasant Czech musical surprises of the whole year.

OIEE (Self-released) plays continuously in Hungary, Czech Republic and Romania, with 11 countries scheduled in 2024. His second album ‘TWO SIDES’ featuring Grammy Award-winning producer Steve Dub (The Chemical Brothers), has over 37,000 monthly Spotify listeners. He recently had two singles premier on BBC 1Xtra and featured with global artists like Amaarae, Nomé, Sena, M3nsa.

Old Gods of Asgard (Insomniac / Playground Music) is Poets of the Fall's alter ego band that lives and rocks in the universe of Remedy Entertainment's video games Alan Wake and Control. OGOA's REBIRTH - GREATEST HITS album features all tracks from Alan Wake 2 (including 'Herald of Darkness'), songs from Remedy's past games, and a new exclusive track.

Visionary Finnish folk music composer, singer and jouhikko player Pekko Käppi (Rockadillo Records) revolutionised the ancient Finnish instrument jouhikko, a bowed lyre, by plugging it into an amplifier. He then incorporated elements from blues, rock and experimental archaic chaos. The new album Credo by Pekko Käppi & K:H:H:L entered Top 10 in the World Music Charts Europe in 2023.

Prima Dragoste (Roton Music) is a Moldavian singer-songwriter with a unique voice, showcasing her talent on piano and guitar. In her debut year, she performed at DWMT Festival, BandBook Showcase Festival, and MMB 2023, highlighting her artistic complexity. In 2024, she plans to release her first album and perform at Electric Castle and SummerWell Festival, signaling a promising music career.

With three songs entering Spotify’s Viral charts this year alone, Irish songwriter Ryan Mack (Self-released) is clearly having a breakout moment in 2023. He sold out his debut European tour in February and played shows with AJR, Bastille and Cian Ducrot to name a few. 2024 brings his debut North American shows and loads of new music which will delight his ever-growing fanbase.

Croydon’s R&B/pop artist Saint Joshua (Self-released) offers dreamy vocals and elegant beats, attracting Daniel Caesar and Blood Orange fans. With over 13.5 million streams, he's featured on Notion Magazine's cover and recognised by Complex Magazine's and AIM Independent Music Awards in 2023. He is also supported by Radio 1, Apple Music, DIY, and C4’s Sunday Brunch. His debut album is due at the end of year.

Samba de la Muerte (Yotanka) has epitomised creative fever this decade, offering a breath of freedom through his music. His journey has been intense and fruitful, maturing the creative process. Music, for him, is a means of orienting in space, exploring the unknown. Latest album 'Ornament', marks the beginning of an emblematic new cycle for the artist from Caen.

Sami (Self-released) is a Polish pop-rock band. They debuted in 2000 with the hit 'Lato 2000', Probably the refrain of this single is known by every Pole. With three albums, numerous singles, and hundreds of concerts, they won Superjedynka at Opole Festival in 2001. Despite lineup changes over the years, the band remains active in concerts and publishing.

Austrian band Shake Stew (Traumton) are a phenomenon. Following their premiere at Jazzfestival Saalfelden 2016 with debut “The Golden Fang”, they have exploded onto the scene. Since then, their high energy mixture of hypnotic Afrobeat and jazz grooves has made them enormously successful, with a German Jazz Award as well as Austria’s prestigious Amadeus Music Award.

Smag På Dig Selv (Stunt Records) have shown an extraordinary ability to mix genres like punk, jazz, and afrobeat, resulting in a unique and euphoric sound. Their EP 'Middelklassen Avler Kun Skeletter’ (2023) along with their live performances have left an impression on audiences with their energetic and boundary-pushing performances. The band's debut album will be released in April 2024.

СТРУКТУРА ЩАСТЯ ‘Structure of Happiness’ (self-released) is Liza Uglach's solo project. Starting at 19, she blends electro music, pop-punk hits, and a symbolic rabbit mascot, embodying freedom and individualism. Her collaboration with musician SadSvit, "Silhouettes", became the most listened-to Ukrainian song of 2023 on Spotify.

Superkoloritas (Self-released) is a joyful duo of Giedrė and Adomas. Their music merges beach pop and space-age nostalgia. Influenced by old surf, Latin tropicalia, Italo disco, and African music legacy, they maintain their native Baltic coastline heritage, as sparkling synth tones are seasoned with poetic Lithuanian lyrics inspired by hits from the Lithuanian pop golden age in the 60s through 80s.

The Düsseldorf Düsterboys (Staatsakt) are Peter Rubel and Pedro Goncalves Crescenti, recognised by many music enthusiasts in Germany for their unmistakable voices in psychedelic folk band Düsterboys and their sister post-punk outfit 'International Music'. Since 2018 both bands have released four albums and two EPs. 2024 will see International Music’s album number 3.

The Jordan (Cooking Vinyl) is a Dutch band fronted by Amsterdam, The Netherlands-based singer Caroline van der Leeuw, who previously enjoyed major pop success as the retro pop jazz diva, Caro Emerald. With The Jordan, Van der Leeuw makes warm, brooding pop music with a subtle undercurrent of triphop.

Prize-winning law grad Tim Dawn (CTM) was bound for a PhD until music stole his heart. He left for a petting zoo on a lumber mill property in Utrecht, caring for animals and crafting hits like "Walking On A Wire" and "Bite the Bullet". His Beegees cover 'To Love Somebody' hit gold status, a Christmas playlist staple yearly. Dawn writes catchy pop melodies on relatable to all.

Travis Birds (Calverita Records) presents his new album, "Perro Deseo". An album where she explores a new sound universe, so she manages to reach a new dimension that is reflected not only in her musical creations, but also in her character, characterized until now by a much darker, intimate image and with certain somewhat extravagant nuances that evoke a madness and a unique universe.

Tuğçe Şenoğul (Self-released) is a singer, songwriter and producer inspired by trip-hop, synthpop, dark wave and disco. In November 2017, Şenoğul released her debut album "Gölgelerine," gaining critical acclaim both domestically and internationally and earning a place among Bandcamp's top 7 albums. Her latest project is the album ’Atlas,(Map Of The Soul)’ released in October 2023.

VIANNE’s (Flat Line Collective) evocative vocals and fearless songwriting propel her toward international stardom. At twenty, her voice embodies wisdom beyond her years, drawing comparisons to Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald. With her debut EP, VIANNE's poised to make a significant impact. Born Vianne Ignatoff in Tucson, Arizona, her musical journey spans electro-pop, R&B, soul, and jazz.

Viktor Yordanov, known as V:RGO (SauceKidsGang / MUZE Music), is a Bulgarian artist blending trap, hip-hop, pop, afro, drill, rock, reggaetón. Born in 1998, he immersed in music during his teens, transitioning from listener to creator. Rapidly gaining acclaim, he founded SAUCEKIDSGANG label. Now focusing on spiritual growth, he fosters connections with his "Family" of fans.

Thibaud Vanhooland - VOYOU (Entreprise) is a versatile artist from Northern France. Initially trained in brass, he transitioned to pop bands as a bassist before launching his own project. His debut album "Les bruits de la ville" (2019) led to a major tour and a sold-out Cigale. In 2021, he released "Chroniques terrestres Vol.1" and has been composing and arranging for acclaimed artists globally.

With her Sub Pop debut EP 'Foam', Swedish artist waterbaby (Sub Pop Records) ascends from promise to international stardom. Collaborating with producer Marcus White, waterbaby crafts a mystical blend, with songs that feel spellbinding while capturing the essence of love and longing. Despite limited resources, waterbaby's bold confidence showcases her universal appeal.

Witch Club Satan (Lost & Found Productions) is a occult feminist black metal band trio from Norway with a new self entitled debut album. They are a musical, a dramatic ritual with an unknown effect. They will awaken you with the primordial cry that has built up inside us, and together we will be transformed. It is Sankthans, Sabbath, and you, your whole being is welcome to the fire.

Yasha 96 (Self-released) is Jáchym Kovář, a dubstep producer since 13 turned indie pop artist. His solo project emerged in Berlin, launching with the single 'Under Pillow' in May 2020. 'The Boy Who Came Here From The Dust,' his debut album, was crafted over three years in Berlin and Prague, featuring the singer Amelie Siba on the pilot single 'Orange Fish'.

ZHIVA (Glitch Records) brings a breath of fresh air to Serbia's music scene, hailing from Belgrade as a singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist. Her debut album "Preterujem" ("I Exaggerate"), released in November 2023, is a energetic mosaic consisting of alt-pop, jazz, hip hop, drum & bass, and reggae. Dedicated to mental health, it shares both her vulnerability and aims to heal.

Ziferblat (Geisha Ninja Samurai label) consists of twins Daniil and Valentyn Leshchynsky and Fedir Khodakov. Since the release of debut album "Перетворення" (Transformation), they won the Best New Alternative Music Names category at the Ukrainian Music Awards "Muzvar". In 2024, the band took second place in the competition for the right to represent Ukraine at Eurovision and sold out two shows in Kyiv.

Zoster (Croatia Records) is a Bosnian group originating from Mostar. Formed in 2000, they've released five albums spanning reggae, ska, rock, blues, and pop. Frontman Marija Knezović's strong, poetic wordplay defines the authenticity running through all their albums, marking them with a distinctively natural and expressive lyrical depth.

3'Ain (Choux de Bruxelles) is a trio on trumpet, upright bass, and accordion, bringing a unique blend of worldwide jazz with Middle Eastern influences. With their distinctive sound, they released their first EP in May 2020. The subsequent full album, ‘Sea of Stories’ has been released in the Spring of 2023 and has received international acclaim in the press.
